From Chances amputation story

My dog Chance is a 3 year old Doberman/Labrador mix. I was playing with him today and he jumped up onto my bed and jumped off of the side side and spiral fractured his right rear leg. We took him to the vet and were told that the safest and surest way of treating this break was amputation.
My wife and I discussed it, and for rapid healing and quality of life, we decided to have the surgery done. Well, I just picked him up and boy is he drowsy, but he walked out of the vets office with the help of a towel around his mid-section and someone helping to guide him.
He is home now and resting as comfortably as we can make him. I gave him a shot of pain killer and a little water and we’ll see how tonight goes.
I will update this blog more tomorrow.
